Day 1: Estanyó lake
We start the day with a hike to the Parc Natural de Sorteny. This place is home to a large number of species of flora and fauna typical of the Pyrenees, as well as representative examples of the agricultural and livestock practices of yesteryear. We continue towards our goal, the Estanyó lake (2350m), which is hidden under the walls of a beautiful glacial cirque. We will recharge our batteries with a hearty picnic and head to the bottom of the valley, where we will visit the traditional village of Ordino.
Día 2: Cabana Sorda lake
Today we will make a trip back in time during our circular hike through the Vall d'Incles. Our goal: the lake of Cabana Sorda (2290m). On our way, we will see the typical mountain houses called bordes and the scythe fields that surround them. We will take a part of the path used by smugglers to pass to France and we will deviate towards the beautiful lake. We will relax near the shore, while eating our picnic and we will go down on another side of the mountain, immersed in a lush pine forest.
Day 3: Fontverd hut
Today's hike crosses the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the category of cultural landscape. The itinerary is a living chronology of the evolution of Andorra during the last centuries. We will discover how traditional rural life was, the metallurgical industry and the way electricity boosted the development of the country. We will have a picnic lunch at the Fontverd hut and on the way down, we will visit Ramio's typical mountain houses.
Day 4: Pic dels Llacs
Today we drive up to the Port de Cabús, right on the border with Spain, along the smugglers' route. The views from this mountain pass are spectacular, but this is only the starting point of the excursion. As we ascend the Pic dels Llacs, we will discover the legends and dark stories that inhabit these lands and we will be able to contemplate the highest mountains in the country. At the end, we will enjoy a snack with typical products of the Pyrenees.
